For Labor Day weekend we had the brilliant idea to go backpacking. We left Saturday morning and decided to try this new trail that goes into this park area at the bottom of Mt Jefferson. About 1/4 of the way into the hike Brett looks up at this big mountain looming in front of us and says "I have a feeling we're going over that." And sure enough... we did. Up to 7010 ft elevation that looked over practically the whole of Oregon. And you're just going to have to take my word for it because we didn't get a picture! ugh! Sunday we got snowed in. It snowed alllll day. So the three of us had to spend allllll day in the tent bundled up against the cold. Luckily we brought some cards, a book, and we watched a movie on Brett's phone, and snacked on trail mix, pringles, cookies, and hot cool-aid. By Monday the storm had passed and it was a beautiful clear day, so we got the heck out of there. It was 15 miles round trip. We were pretty proud of ourselves for being so adventurous and surviving:) Just kidding moms, we were perfectly safe.

YIKES!!! Between you and Em and all your backpacking pictures.... I MISS the beauty of Oregon. You girls are Princesses', aren't you?!?!? What happened?
ps. That first picture looks like a page in a calendar!
Great pictures! I can't believe you camped in the snow. I am impressed that you hiked your way there. We enjoyed driving to our site. :)
Oh my goodness! what an adventure, and great pictures! I think I would have been pretty scared when it started snowing, but i am glad you guys survived.
Wow! You camped in the snow and hiked 15 miles! I'm so majorly impressed. Did you bring Charlie with you? He's the third person you were referring to, right? So cute. You guys are awesome.
Wow! That picture of Brett is priceless! haha Good job on being adventurous!
ha ha ha ha! I can't get over the icicle face! That is a crack-up!!! That DOES look like such a fun adventure. Thanks for sharing the pictures.. so I don't have to go ;) (JUUUUST KIDDING - I'd GO if I got to go with you guys!!!!)
I definitely think this hairstyle should be your permanent 'do! As my grandma would say, "Saxy!"
You guys rock!! Good job! It sounds crazy and fun.
You are SO grounded! You are not allowed to take risks like that! What has gotten into you!!?? Motorcycles with strangers and now this?!
Where did you learn all this stuff, certainly not from us. Far from our trips to Palm Springs laying around the pool and shopping at the outlet stores.
i love brett's frosty face. that's hilarious. and your wild cavewoman hair...priceless :) so i never knew you guys were so adventurous! i'm not sure we can be friends...but your dad on the other hand...palm springs? count me in!
it was so good to hang out tonight. i didn't get to tell you or megan, but you guys did a great job. it's a huge feat, but it was a lot of fun.
I like the crazy hair and the frozen sweat is about the funniest thing I have ever seen! Your quilt looks beautiful! I got to see your sister and mom a few weeks ago at the pool, your nephew is adorable!
