No More Brass Door Knobs!

Good one honey.

Not only did we make it back alive from our first backpacking trip, but we had a great time too! I know this may shock some of you but..... I cant wait to do it again! I was rather proud of myself - not only did I hike 5 miles into the wilderness carrying a huge backpack, I overcame my fear of (i hope this isn't too much info) "going" in the woods. Here are some pictures from our trip:

There was still some snow on the ground which turned out to be very convenient. Especially when we needed to put out our fire.

After a rocky start he's hooked. He didn't want to mess around with the kid stuff, he wanted to go straight to playing hymns. And by gully he's doing it.

In other news, please notice the red and black thing in the picture behind Brett. Well folks, that's my backpack. It's carrying everything I'll need for two days. 2 DAYS! We're going backpacking! So pray that I live to tell the tale.

What? Global Warming ... What??

Yesterday we had a freak hail storm, just over the hill our house is on. I came home yesterday to find 2 inches of the stuff.

Only a couple days ago we were enjoying the sun and our blooming tulips. But yesterday.....

I was not prepared for this. My shoes weren't exactly water proof. Silly my didn't think to wear my snow boots! I mean it is May after all!
