Bad to the bone

Happy 4th!

We went on a little hike for the 4th, and things didn't end the way we expected. Charlie decided to go down the steep hill and jump into the river. He rode a rapid then couldn't get out because the banks were too steep. So Brett goes charging down the hill to save him. On the way down he slips on the wet rocks and goes sliding into the river himself. So because the bank on the right side of the river were so steep and rocky, they had to go to the other side, hike up stream for a little ways to find a good place to cross back over. I just wish I was a little quicker with the camera.

Busy Weekend

Charlie was a busy boy this weekend. He pulled a cup of syrup off the kitchen table, he chewed up some adoption paper work, and ate a whole loaf of bread. Sacrament bread. 5 minutes before church started. And now I have to tell the social worker that my dog ate my homework.

Not much to report from our meeting this morning only that the tunnel is loooooooooonger than we originally thought and full of paperwork. Oh ya, and we are now accepting donations. :) Just kidding.... kinda.






And I also wanted to thank our references. We got to hear a couple of the nice things you wrote and we were really touched. Brett cried. ok ok, I did too. Really....... THANK YOU!

Excited!

For those of you who don't know..... Brett and I have decided to adopt. A baby. Hopefully soon. We turned in the initial application about a month ago, and this Thursday we have our first meeting with the social worker. Yeah! It's like turning over a new leaf. We're excited again. Even though it might be a long tunnel, at least there is a light at the end of it!

This is how excited we are.....

We went into this baby store and Brett had to try out all the chairs and see how it would feel to hold a baby in it. This was his favorite. I'm sure the excitement of rocking a baby in the middle of the night will last approximately 20 minutes when it finally arrives. But he will be a great dad.
