Yesterday morning was just like any other day, I got up, got ready for work, had some breakfast, kissed Brett and Charlie goodbye, went out to the garage, pushed the button to open the garage, got in my car, threw it in reverse, and BANG - I backed into the closed garage door! I OPENED THE WRONG GARAGE DOOR AND DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE! After calling myself all kinds of names I realized grandpa must be getting a big kick out of this right now.
I fretted about it all day, trying to decide if I should tell Brett about it or not. I knew if he found the tiny little scratch on the bumper he'd ask me what I did, I would turn bright red and be in ever more trouble. So when I got home from work I told him I had a confession. Expecting a lecture to pay attention and be more careful I was shocked when he busted out laughing. And all he said was "I wondered what all that banging around out there was this morning!"

I love your story! I remember when grandpa did it, ran right into our brand new garage door, left a big old dent in it. I love that dent. He is definitely smiling down on us.
Awww.. I'm getting a little puddly over your dent story and grandpa. :) That's a funny story and one that most of us will run into --- ha ha ha ha - RUN INTO - sometime in our life. :) love you.
OHHH and it was your new bumper too!
What a good husband, I love his answer, good job Brett!!
Poor thing...not the best way to start the day! :( But I have to agree with Maggie way to go Brett with the sweet response! That's worth major brownie points!
grandpa was definitely laughing! I am glad you were able to find some humor in this experience and you should be so happy that your husband is so sweet, that is defintely not the reaction I would get out of ryan if i ran into the garage.
I must admit... Brett did jump out of his chair and run out to the garage to assess the damage before he laughed. But he's still a great husband!
oh grandpa.. i got a little misty too. gramps was totally laughing down at you, and all of us for getting emotional over a "grandpa moment"
