Alone

Brett is traveling for "work" this week.

I've been lounging around with Charlie. With no one to cook for I don't eat very well. Last night I had tortillas dipped in Cafe Rio dressing, tonight I had a hard boiled egg and green cool-aid. Tonight will also include this:

Project

Months ago we got this crib from a family in our ward. It has taken me months to sand it. And just last weekend I finally painted it. So we took it upstairs to put it together. I had to get inside it to help hold it while Brett put the screws in. Then as I was trying to climb out, Charlie came and sat on me! And lucky for you Brett was quick with the camera. :)

Now we just need a baby to put in it.

I'm Back

I've taken a much needed rest. But now I'll fill you in on our holiday activities. We got out of the bad weather and went to California to see our families.

Brett turned 30 and his mom made him his favorite chocolate cake.

I got to spend everyday with my favorite person - Dax :)
Man do I love that kid!!

Dax and his sidekick Charlie.

Now please be warned... the next couple pictures are not pretty. You might want to ask any young children to leave the room.

You might wonder what in the heck I'm doing in that first picture. Believe it or not, I'm smiling.
I came down with bells palsy right before Christmas. MERRY CHRISTMAS! I had a terrible headache for a couple days then I lost all movement to the left side of my face. I was scared! I thought I had a stroke or something! But a wonderful man in my parents ward who is an ER doctor took time out of his Christmas eve to see me and tell me no... I wasn't dying. So it's been about 4 weeks now, and I'm slowly recovering. I got some great advice to go to an acupuncturist. Weird, and I'm not sure how it works.... but it does. You can see my progress above.

A Random Post

We've been having some pretty crazy weather here this week.. snow and freezing rain. So we're taking it easy today and staying warm inside.

Last night I threw Brett a surprise 30th birthday party. The theme for the party was the 80s, that's the reason for the awful sweater. This picture doesn't really do our outfits justice, so I will have to track down somebody else's pictures. And Brett was actually surprised!! And here he thought nothing got passed him. HA!

And I found this cute picture from Thanksgiving weekend. Ella and Parker helping me make Orange Juice.

Day Three - Philadelphia

We had a great Thanksgiving. So great and so busy I didn't take a single picture! loser! Brian, Shirley, Kevin, Jessica, Michelle, Nathan, Spencer, Parker, Ella, and Jack came. We did a lot of shopping, and lot of cooking! Since I don't have any pictures of Thanksgiving to post, I'll continue with our DC trip.

Our third day we rented a car in NY and drove down to DC stopping and spending the day in Philadelphia. We weren't able to get in a tour for Independence Hall, which was a big bummer, but it was still up there on my list of favorite places we saw. I was just in heaven in the midst of all that history! And a trip to Philly wouldn't be complete without trying a famous Philly Cheese steak. I wish I got a picture of the pure joy on Brett's face.
