After a rocky start he's hooked. He didn't want to mess around with the kid stuff, he wanted to go straight to playing hymns. And by gully he's doing it.
In other news, please notice the red and black thing in the picture behind Brett. Well folks, that's my backpack. It's carrying everything I'll need for two days. 2 DAYS! We're going backpacking! So pray that I live to tell the tale.

GOOD JOB BRETT!!!! So is he going to be the new pianist in your ward? As for the back packing...is that completely safe?
Brett is awesome! I can't to hear him play us a hymn some day.
I am also seriously impressed that you are going backpacking! I don't think I could do that, because it is physically impossible for me to go potty (1 or 2) without a toilet. but good luck to you! let me know how everything comes out....no pun intended.
Oh Honey, honey (just imagine me saying that the way beth does) I can't believe that you are going back packing! It isn't for girls camp...it's actually by choice? We might have to do some serious work when we are in Arizona to get the old Julia back! :)
Good luck! Love ya!
JULIA!! Wow.... that's all I have to say!
As far as the big guy on the piano bench! Wow.... that's all I have to say!
Hey, good for you, Brett! My mom tried to teach me piano when I was young, but I gave up. Since I was the fifth child and she had worked hard to teach the others, she let me give up (she must have been tired or something).
I hope you have fun backpacking. It can be really fun as long as your guy knows how to do it right-- he can treat you like a princess in the mountains, too. I have a backpack. I probably would like using it more if it hadn't been for the first time we used it. The backpack was fine until Grant strapped my feet to a pair of cross-country skis and dragged me up a snowy hill to sleep in a snow cave that halfway through the night had a slushy roof that made us go back down the hill in the middle of the night to sleep in the car (sharing one sleeping bag together on the reclined passenger side bucket seat of Grant's Honda). Yeah, if it wasn't for that, I think I'd like my backpack more- at least it makes for some great stories. Hope your first trip is better than mine was!
Oh Jocelyn I sure hope our trip turns out better than yours did. If all goes well we'll have to get you back out there. We can get a saddle for Charlie and Eleanor can ride him! :)
